Arantxa Araujo is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist with a background in Neuroscience living in NYC. Araujo is interested in how art changes us (the brain) by allowing curated sensorimotor stimuli to create awareness using video, projection mapping, installation, new media, LEDs/lights and movement-based performances based on research.
She uses her body in movement and stillness, in endurance and in rituals, to understand physically, energetically and mentally what reality entails. Creating opportunities to contemplate, to become aware, to notice. These projects and performances push boundaries of comfort in herself and observers to access heightened states of consciousness that allow to see things with a new perspective.
