New York, NY
2016
We initiated a takeover of a conventional office space in SoHo New York, to build a temporary, social media friendly installation titled ❍ffi⊂∈ ₲Li₸⊑⧦. We used colored mason line, tape, and changing light to challenge viewers' visual and sensory expectations of a generic "white-box" space.
The three-dimensional space in ❍ffi⊂∈ ₲Li₸⊑⧦ produced many shifting two-dimensional scenes, resulting in a wide range of different social media posts, growing out of the same basic materials. Even in social media, the installation epitomized transience and transformation. The ultimate hope was that those who participated in the installation experienced temporary shifts in perception and expectation, with reverberating effects rippling through social media following the popup.
